Statement

These pieces come from my "Field Studies" series, a set of visual responses to walking. While often these walks might be in the neighborhood, this particular collection takes a metaphorical walk through our warming world and dying ecosystems. Ideas percolating on the walk include what’s growing, what’s melting, and how things change in proximity to each other. These pieces consider the chaotic space of our warming, acidifying, and plastic-burdened oceans. The sweltering heatwaves that extend from summer into fall. Humans, fish, mammals, ice floes and coral are among the casualties.
