Bonnie MacAllister - Bretagne

Statement

As an artist, it is important to me to preserve the old ways of textile creation and to save materials from waste and landfills.  All work is handspun, hand felted, handmade, hand sewn using recycled textiles and raw fiber sourced directly by me from farms in Sweden, Norway, and Bretagne in my travels.  I could not imagine any other way to honor my ancestors and our future than to create safely and reference the preserved landscapes existing from megaliths in Bretagne, the environment of the aurora borealis in the Lappland, and the beautiful fragile landscapes of the glacial melt and polar icecaps.
