Statement

According to the U.S. State Department, 600,000 to 800,000 people are trafficked across international borders every year, of which 80% are female and half are children. With this in mind, I contributed two portraits the WCAGA’s ongoing campaign against human trafficking: one of a little girl and the other, a young woman. As the social backgrounds and ages of modern-day slaves vary greatly, I wanted to illustrate that potential victims cannot be defined with a single face.
