Statement

Our human survival may depend on trees. The Gymnosperms (the first seed bearing plants) have been here for at least 300 million years. Although incredibly ancient, the gymnosperms have survived. They include our familiar pines and other conifers, the ginkgo, the cycads, and some peculiar plants classified as Gnetophyta. This piece is to celebrate the gymnosperms and their tenacity. The streamer is a party decoration for the celebration.
